Fuel

by Joe Thorn on May 30, 2005

A little while ago I asked one of our creative people at Grace (Jenny A.) to design a bulletin for us. At the time we just had a folded piece of paper with a logo, order of service, news and blank space for notes. The only thing anyone really used was the blank space. She came back with an idea (design and everything) for a monthly magazine that would replace the bulletin all together.

For those of you who do not visit Grace I wanted to point you to a PDF of our monthly magazine, Fuel. We hand this out to visitors and members – it’s basically a newsletter written by different people at Grace and presented in an interesting way. The June issue will be out next week but for now you can get a feel for who we are by checking out our first issue at our church website.

your monthly magazine is a great idea. i checked out the .pdf and jenny did an awesome job. it’s clean and professionally crafted. does she do this as a ministry or are you paying to get this done?

What made you think of doing that?? I think it’s a good idea. I liked the last one.

I believe Jenny’s degree is in graphic design and she does this for Grace as a ministry. Really, that’s just a part of what she does. She’s one of those people who serves in multiple ways – very well.

Vicki, she said she saw another church (Mars Hill) doing the same thing and took it from there. Is that right Jenny?

it would be great to have a graphic design major over here!

Instead of “Fuel” you should have named it “Tuel”. That would have been cuel.

Steve – I think you are implying that I am a tool? Remember, you will be driving to Nashvegas with me in a few weeks. I must look for ways to… make the trip memorable for you.

As long as I do the driving. That’s all I ask. :)
