Man, that is a funny picture. Not as funny as me looking into the window of that restaurant in Nashville, but still very funny.

I don’t get it. why is ok to disparage certain Christians–falwell, lahaye, etc? I don’t agree with all their doctrine or even their “style”– but i have met TL and he is a nice old guy. JF has done a great job with liberty…the whole attitude is getting old. it smacks of pride. anway, I enjoy your blog.

    “Ransomed,”

This was a little light-hearted busting. If you do read this blog you probably notice I make fun of myself more than anyone else. I have not said anything disparaging about Falwell here. It’s funny because the book is called “The Book of Jerry Falwell.” I know it’s a biography of sorts, but the title is funny. It’s funny that Steve would be reading it because those who know him, would not expect this book to be in his hands.

For the record, Jerry has put his foot in his mouth on more than a few occasions while speaking for the evangelical body in the US. I could go through the trouble of tearing apart his doctrinal views not being in line with the reformed tradition, or I could blast away at how he approaches culture. But that is not my intention here. He is a brother, and I do love him (as much as I can love someone I have never met).

Relax brother. Feel free to call me little-bald-Calvin, or Joe Owen, or Pomo-Joe. I promise not to take offense so long as you don’t attack my character.

    Wow, re- to the -lax.

Listen, “The Book of Jerry Falwell” is a hilariously stupid title. It took like a nanosecond to know that a pic of that on the blog would be tremendous. If I ever have a book out on me like that, just pull my toenails off.

See – there’s Steve picking on me because I DID have my toenails pulled off. LOL

“The Book of Joe Thorn” would be a bestseller among hobbits, I think.

Ransomed, how about a real name? We like that sort of thing around here. Do you own, work with/for monergism?

  • ransomed

no I have no connection to monergism–it is probably my favorite site on the net though, so i gave it a plug. are names necessary? I’m a nobody–not emerged, not a leader or anything! am i still welcome? If not, farewell.

Monergism is a great site. Uh, not sure what you mean by “emerged,” but this blog is read by people from our church and friends all over. So, everyone is welcome.

Thanks. . . I’m sorry- I was a tad irritated. the more i look at the picture the more i like it.
    ; )

Ransomed, the picture is growing on you because I look so handsome in it. (barf)

Love monergism. I use the site often.

Don’t get irritated ransomed, get even. Take Joe’s picture at the ATM and put hobbit feet on it. Did anyone tell you he’s short and bald yet?
