In one sense we have the capacity for good (natural ability) but not the will (moral ability) Or, we could speak in relative terms and say that because man is made in the image of God even the unregenerate often "does good." I think the Jor-El narrative is mor exciting at a more basic level. That a father sent his son to save the world. That Superman is a Christ-figure is common knowledge, but the upcoming movie can be a new and interesting inroad to conversations about Jesus. Even a Calvinist could speak of a man’s capacity for good.
