DG Con: 1

by Joe Thorn on September 30, 2006

I stayed off the Interstates and took the back-roads and highways all the way up to Minnesota for the Desiring God Conference. I met Timmy Brister half way up and we stopped to shoot some pictures along the way. I will be uploading them to Flickr as time allows.

Tonight at the conference we heard from David Wells on “The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern World.” Afterward Piper, Driscoll, and Keller handled Q&A from Justin Taylor. I do not have the time or energy to say much about it (It’s 1:30am), let’s just say it was a needed message on the sufficiency and supremacy of Christ and his Gospel. And very good news – all the audio should be available for free from DesiringGod.com. Timmy and I have been invited to crash at Marc’s place (and eat his food and use up his shampoo) for the weekend. Pray that we do not become fodder for his weblog. Oops,  too late.

Can’t wait to read your commentary. Man, I wish I could be there!

Please take a picture of you using Marc’s shampoo. Should be interesting.

    Ditto Steve. My first thought.

I keep thinking, Boy, this Marc guy is REALLY generous to offer Joe shampoo. He should offer Turtle Wax instead.

Sorry Joe, but you brought it up.

By the way, Joe called today and said the conference is the greatest thing in his life since he attended the Olson Twins’ Expo.

Great hanging out today Joe. I’ll definately pray for the things we talked about today — If I don’t see you before we leave, have a safe trip home. Grace and peace to you, brother!

I don’t have any use for it, but since Marc offered I dump a little out with each shower use. I don’t want to disrespect his offer/gift.

Nick, it was cool hanging out man. Thanks for your prayers and God bless at your new church home and ministry!
