Baptist ID: Final

All the audio from the Baptist Identity Conference is available for free at Union University’s website. (Way to go Union!) Please listen to Ed Stezter’s lecture. When his paper is available online I will be linking to it. Also check out Greg Thornbury, Mike Day, David Dockery and Timothy George. I will put up some a reflection on it all early this week.

For fun, check out the photos from the conference:

  1. Joe,

I was wondering if you’d be attending the Southern Baptist Convention this year. I read the blogs on the Identity Conference to help me decide if I wanted to go. I’ve never been, and I feel that I should go, but I’m torn. What do you think about it?

  2. Brad,

Going to the SBC has always been very good for me, but not because of the big show and the voting. It has been the relationships, fellowship and dialogue that has been so beneficial. I am only in the meeting when the more important stuff is being dealt with.

I was not planning on going this year (a first in a long time). It’s a long way away, expensive, etc. But I am rethinking it after the Baptist ID Conference. If I was going to go, it would be for the reasons I list above and I would get some of that in order before I go. Talk to some friends, choose what we want to be in on at the big show, and then other wise meet up with like-minded people.

  3. Joe,

What you said is exactly what I’d be looking for. If you decide to go, I’d certainly like to know what you guys plan. I’m probably going to go at this point. If you know of anyone who’s going who’d like to make plans, I’m all for it. Thanks!
