Jeffery Overstreet (writes alot of review for Christianity today, and has his own site “Looking Closer” does a nice job of judging the quality of a film and offering some insight from a Christian worldview.

You mention Danny Boyle as one you follow — had a chance to check out 28 Weeks Later yet? I know he didn’t direct because of Sunshine (but did have a hand in direction and production). I for one loved it — might even be the best flick of the summer (certainly better than Spidey3). Definitely not one for the kids though…

If you haven’t already, you might want to check out Rottentomatoes.com — sort of like Metacritic, but strictly for movies. Films (mostly major releases but some limited-release smaller films, too) are assigned a score based on reviews collected from several sources. Your favorite reviewer might not be represented there, but it still a pretty useful site.
