Around January of this year I seriously considered shutting down the blog. Over the past few months I’ve been thinking about it and have decided to just take a break. I really enjoy writing for this blog, and apparently so do about 1000 of you every day. I still have a lot to say about things that are relevant, so I plan on being back. No, there isn’t any drama at church or in my family. Why the break? The big reason at the moment is that I have other writing projects I would like to get started on, and doing that and this blog seems too tough for me – at least at the moment. You may see me pop up on another blog (maybe not), and you will still find my photography online (something I got a lot of questions about at the Founders Conference).
Thank you so much for reading. I am glad to have been an encouragement to you, as many of your words have helped me.

It’s alright Joe. I didn’t really read your blog anyway. You have been riding the coattails of my blog for so long it will be nice to just sail free!
Man, I hear you. I’ve thought the same things from time to time as you know. So are you keeping up the blog as is for now?
Yeah, the blog is not going down. I may change the look of it at some time, but everything will remain archived and searchable. I do think I’ll come back online later.
I enjoyed getting to meet you at Founders. Will miss the blog, but look forward to seeing your photos.
In your absence, I will leave daily “post-sized” comments on this post. Everyone check back here, at my new blogging location.
I will include cameraphone pictures of myself, taken in a mirror. It will be kind of like the blog here normally is, except not.
Sorry to hear this news. Hope to see you back soon.
You still need to complete the “What Does God Want” series, and give more great thoughts on family spiritual development.
Have a great break!
Have a good break Joe. Hope the other writing stuff goes smoothly.
Have a nice break, Joe. Keep shooting!
