This is a busy fire house in Saint Charles. I don’t think I’ve ever sat in Starbucks working/reading without the sirens blasting and the trucks racing by.

As a little kid in the late 70’s I used to stop by Tastee Freez with my parents or siblings. That ice cream joint is still standing and looks great. I stopped by this week (haven’t been since ‘79) and had a small cone. It was excellent.

This is the photo that was featured on the Chicago Public Radio website this week. I saw these “horses” outside where a young friend from church was playing a show with his rock band. It looked to me like an urban bouquet of some sort.
