Special Date

Date with Dad

Mondays are the best opportunities to take my daughter and/or son out for a special date with Dad. This morning Katherine and I hit Starbucks. She had a hot chocolate while drawing pictures and doing math in her notebooks. I had an “iced coffee, no sweetener, with room” while writing in my journal about Abram (Gen 12). It’s always nice hanging out like this. She really likes Starbucks and their comfy chairs, and she didn’t mind the drunk guy sitting in the corner alternately talking to himself and nodding off. I probably drew more attention to myself when demonstrating what the “chicken dance” looks like for Katherine. Here’s another shot of Kat from this morning.

Update: I didn’t leave Elias hanging too long. This afternoon we had some Father/Son hang time. Tonight we’re grilling brats, and chowin’ down on some other excellent summer food - before it gets too late.

  1. Isn’t the time alone with your daughter priceless? Boys and girls are NOTHING alike. Enjoy it, brother. Scott Krippayne wrote a sweet song to his daughter called, “May I have this dance.” Awesome job investing in her, Joe.
