sub•text

by Joe Thorn on July 11, 2008

Steve McCoy and I have launched a new blog and ministry called sub•text, on the preaching and practice of the gospel in the suburban context. The blog includes new articles we are writing on suburban mission, quick hits on the latest relevant news and information, interviews with pastors, theologians, church planters, and authors concerning suburban mission and more. We are also planning a forum for fall 2008 with Al Hsu, author of the Suburban Christian. More forums are already in the works for early 2009. Head over to sub•text and join the conversation.

As a guy shepherding at an urban church, but (currently) living in the ‘burbs, I’m excited for this.

Congrats Joe! This looks like a helpful resource and an opportunity for suburban churches and Christians to think again about ministry. I’m reading everything on the site right now. :)

Joe, this is exactly where my ministry is leading, but its still a long way away. I can’t wait to watch and learn from you guys. I’ve been praying for something like this. God Bless.

Joe. I’m also excited about this. Like you guys, we are in the thick of this. Looking forward to the future of sub.text.

If this site is as good as both of your individual blogs, then we in the blogosphere are in for a insightful treat. Thanks for doing the leg work for us and seeing the suburban field as a indeed, a missionary field. Thanks!

    Hey, Joe -

Great that you and Steve are doing this. BTW, tour link to my blog has the wrong URL – it’s thesuburbanchristian.blogspot.com, not suburbanchristian.blogspot.com.
