Are the Suburbs Killing Your Soul?

by Joe Thorn on August 26, 2008

This September we kick off a new thematic sermon series that asks the question, “Are The Suburbs Killing Your Soul?” The sermon art will go up around town in poster form to hopefully generate interest in the subject and a little buzz about our new church. The short take is: how does the gospel answer the brokenness, corruption, and idolatry in our culture? Though it feels “safe” here, suburbia (like anywhere else) is a dangerous place to try and live.

To see more of our sermon art follow the “sermon art” tag.

Wow. Is that the poster you’ve been twittering about? It is excellent. Really. Just wow.

So does your church actually resemble the one in the poster? What are your thoughts about Church architecture? Looks like a Catholic church to me….It is a good poster…

No. The collage of images at the top looks more like “the city” top me. The house standing alone at the bottom represents the suburbs. My thoughts on church architecture? That too big of a question for the comments here.
