Paradoxology

by Joe Thorn on August 28, 2009

We kick off a new sermon series this Sunday: Paradoxology: The Glory of the Gospel in the Difficult Sayings of Jesus. Paradoxology is a word used by many in different ways (christian and non), but in our case we are speaking of the words of Jesus that are often paradoxical and yet reveal the glory of God in the gospel.

Brian Malcolm, a graphic designer and member at Redeemer, designed the sermon art for us. I explained the concept behind the series and told him I was less interested in images for this one and wanted more emphasis on the words/typeface. Brian, it rocks. Thanks brother!

To see more of our sermon art follow the “sermon art” tag.

I have no idea what texts this sermon series will be on but I love the name and the logo!

We’ll be in Matthew for this first run. In 2010 we’ll return to the series and hit some passages in John.

Looking forward to this Joe. I haven’t checked, but are your sermons podcasted on iTunes?

Paradoxology- what a cool word! How can you mess up a sermon series on that?
