You Really Want to Eat That?

I came across this great infograph through Thabiti Anyabwile’s blog. (Originally from My Modern Met)

I’m not one who boast as a healthy eater but I do limit my visits to fast food, but this makes me want to skip those visits totally. Sad thing is this doesn’t really surprise me.

Yes, I know it’s bad. But you have to admit there is nothing quite like a Jack in the Box taco, dipped in hot fat for something like 2 minutes. I don’t know if they make them that way anymore, but when I used to work there I loved ‘em. Wendell Berry writes interestingly about the moral and spiritual implications of food and notes that for most urban shoppers food is an abstract idea, something they do not know or imagine until it appears on the grocery shelf or the table.

Well, I have always enjoyed the “bad” stuff. And I still do, but in serious moderation these days. But the gross factor of fast food is certainly making me choose more carefully. I was happy to have a burger at Rock Bottom Brewery last night with a friend from KY.
