iPhoneography: Losing Well

by Joe Thorn on January 21, 2012

My 7 year old son is in his second season of wrestling. He’s in the middle of the pack, and loves the sport. At Saturday’s tournament he took a good beating, losing every match (this is a first). But I was still impressed with his hard work, his refusal to quit (or even whine), and his attitude. He is humble when he wins, and gracious in defeat. I love my boy, and love what he is learning through competition. Here are some iPhone pics from today.

Humble when he wins, and gracious in defeat”.
Would that many  pro athletes learn that lesson!

Love the second picture. How large the referee is compared to the young pugilists :-D

This is great.  I once coached this age group in wrestling.  I saw so many boys and worse, parents, struggle with defeat.  Blessings to you and your family.
