Yesterday we installed Brian Malcolm as our fifth elder. Today is the first day of Pastor Pat Aldridge's full time work with Redeemer Fellowship as Community Life Pastor. Pat has served as an elder of Redeemer since the beginning, and has long felt called to vocational ministry. As Redeemer has grown our need for a second staff pastor has become critical. By the grace of God and the generosity of his people we are now able to support another pastor. So after 13 years of working for Toyota Pat has followed the Lord's leading and left his career behind to fulfill his calling.
In addition to the normal pastoral responsibilities of the ministry of the word, prayer, visitation, and counsel, as Community Life Pastor Pat will oversee and develop the ministries of Redeemer Fellowship that focus on relationships and discipleship in the context of our smaller gatherings. This includes our Community Groups, Discipleship Groups, family ministries, youth and children’s ministries, seminars, and the other ministries that fall into this category.
This is huge for us as we seek to follow the Lord in making disciples. Please pray for Pat through this transition, and for Redeemer as we head into a new and exciting season of ministry.
