This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Legacy Conference in Chicago and teach a workshop on how God and the Gospel overcome our fears, anxieties, afflictions and doubts. I have been wanting to attend this conference for some time now and wasn't disappointed. If you're unfamiliar The Legacy is an annual conference that emphasis discipleship primarily targeting an urban audience. I am hoping many from Redeemer will go next year.
In some ways it is very much like other theologically rich conferences I attend with break out sessions and plenary speakers. But The Legacy offers more teaching and devotionals than any others I've attended, and includes poetry slams, spoken word experiences, and more. There's also a DJ mixing music before and after the main sessions. It's fun, but it's much more than that.
The people I met at Legacy are serious about the Lord, hungry for the word, and ready to both learn and share. This made my workshop one of the best I've ever led.
Next year be sure to make The Legacy one of your conference experiences. Lord willing, I'll be there too!
