One of the best annual conferences around is the Legacy Conference in Chicago, IL. This year it's all going down on July 23-25 and will be hosted again at Moody Bible Institute. The mission of the Legacy Movement is "to equip those that are serious about being disciples of Christ to make disciples for Christ." Setting it apart from many other conferences is that it:
- targets a primarily young adult urban audience through diverse ministers and affordable registration.
- facilitates holistic discipleship through general sessions and over 20 workshop tracks.
- promotes life on life relationships through the call to make disciples in our neighborhoods and the nations.
- encourages application of the knowledge that is acquired through our Legacy Fest Outreach at the conclusion of the conference.
This is a theologically rich, radically diverse conference with powerful preaching, insightful breakout sessions, and moving spoken word performances. I really believe everyone should attend if possible. Last year was my first time, and I was blown away. It immediately became a conference I plan on attending every year. I am excited to be teaching a break out session on Experiencing the Trinity, and to join LeCrae, Elicia Horton, and Soong-Chan Rah on the main stage to discuss "The People of God and Diversity."
Thabiti Anyabwile will be preaching on The People of God and Future Glory (John 17:20-26), D.A Horton on The People of God and Community (John 17:1-10), and John Onwuchekwa on The People of God and The World (John 17:12-19).
