I was out of town this weekend speaking at a men's retreat in Michigan. Serving churches outside of Redeemer is an honor, but missing our Sunday gathering is painful. I love our church and miss our people. But one thing I don't do is worry about what's happening while I'm gone. We have a great congregation with trustworthy elders, deacons, and volunteers. This goes for the preaching as well. We have made it our practice of training and releasing preachers at Redeemer from our early days. This week our man, Travell Rounds, was asked to preach the word.
Travell is our youngest preacher, (22), but like the others at Redeemer he is clearly called and gifted. This past Sunday he preached on Romans 12:1, 2 on "True Worship." If you missed it you can listen to the sermon at the bottom of this post, or you can subscribe to our sermon feed on iTunes.
For further reflection Travell recommends The Hole in Our Holiness by Kevin DeYoung. I would also recommend a few article from Ligonier: Worship from the Heart, Worship with the Senses, and A Commitment to Worship.
