The Church in DeKalb

DeKalb, IL is a city that has been on my heart for years. If you follow my photography you've seen a lot of this city. Redeemer Fellowship has been praying about and looking toward planting our first church in DeKalb from our beginning a year and a half ago, and that burden and passion is now happening. tcd

The Church in DeKalb is a new, confessional and missional work coming to life in the college town of 45,000 people, led by Redeemer Fellowship member Jamie Page. Jamie has been on the ground for just under two months now and is already gathering a group of people who are sharing the vision for this new work. This past Sunday at Redeemer there were 10 people from DeKalb visiting with us who then spent the rest of the day together. That afternoon they gathered for their first missional core group meeting. There will be another gathering on Tuesday for those who couldn't make it on Sunday.

jamieAs Jamie has been building relationships in DeKalb he has become friends with Christians and seekers, churched and unchurched, and fruit has already begun to emerge. They have seen their first convert, others are beginning to seriously consider the gospel for the first time in their lives, and Christians hungry for a reformed/missional work in the area are coming on board. New friends Aaron and Erin are moving up from Louisville to join the new work and serve along side Jamie and his wife Cherron, and there is already a solid group of local men Jamie is beginning to disciple.

I'm sharing this with you to encourage you to consider partnering with Redeemer's first church plant, The Church in DeKalb. Here are a few ways you can help:

1. PRAY. Pray for even more people to be prepared by God to hear and respond to the gospel. 2. SHARE. Pass along TCD's information to anyone you know who may be interested in supporting a new work. 3. GIVE. Jamie is in the process of raising support, and so far God has been leading churches and individuals to give. It's exciting, but we have a long way to go. Every contribution, no matter how small helps.
