Blogging Again
Posted by Joe Thorn - 22/08/07After a month and a half break I am coming back to blogging. No big story here, I said I’d be back when I announced the hiatus. But the short time away has helped me to figure out a better way to blog. In short, I will be blogging primarily on those things I believe are most relevant to my local church. Crazy idea huh?
During the hiatus a lot of things have been happening, and I will share them as I have time. Thanks for reading!
Hiatus
Posted by Joe Thorn - 01/07/07
Around January of this year I seriously considered shutting down the blog. Over the past few months I’ve been thinking about it and have decided to just take a break. I really enjoy writing for this blog, and apparently so do about 1000 of you every day. I still have a lot to say about things that are relevant, so I plan on being back. No, there isn’t any drama at church or in my family. Why the break? The big reason at the moment is that I have other writing projects I would like to get started on, and doing that and this blog seems too tough for me - at least at the moment. You may see me pop up on another blog (maybe not), and you will still find my photography online (something I got a lot of questions about at the Founders Conference).
Thank you so much for reading. I am glad to have been an encouragement to you, as many of your words have helped me. If you want to stay in touch with my photography, visit my flickr stream, check out my photoblog, or simply subscribe to my photoblog’s RSS.
Attention all Bloggers
Posted by Joe Thorn - 28/04/07To all the bloggers out there who are using the SnapShots link preview feature on their blogs. We hate it. It makes looking through your blog less enjoyable. No, it’s worse than that - it annoys us. In fact, 10 out of 10 blog readers surveyed say the SnapShot feature discourages them from returning to a blog (I made that up). Don’t believe that most people find it annoying? If you use it, take a poll on your blog and ask. Or you can just do the right thing and disable the feature.
Church Business Meetings
Posted by Joe Thorn - 12/04/07Scott Slayton at Scattered and Covered is asking for “ideas on ways to redeem church business meetings and make them times that actually build up the church?” Please go and share your thoughts. This could be a great conversation.

Posted by Joe Thorn - 20/03/07I was interviewed by Josh Sowin for the Fire and Knowledge blog about my reading habits. Check it out here.
I have become a Rhett and Link fan, especially of their music. Here’s a great song/video about Facebook. While you’re at it, check out this short one about Sudoku.
Where would we be without Steve’s awesome Music Monday posts.
